Session 4 – DECISION FRAMEWORKS
Purpose of Week 4:
To help learners select one primary direction from their three Week-3 pathways using clear, ethical, emotionally aligned, and evidence-based decision-making frameworks. Learners evaluate options using values, feasibility, energy patterns, and real-world constraints.
This decision becomes the basis for Week 5 Capability Mapping.

🔷 SECTION 1 — Alignment Analysis
🔷 SECTION 2 — Feasibility & Reality Check
Learning Goal:
Learners will identify practical considerations affecting each pathway, such as required skills, time, resources, education, and job-market realities.
Expanded Description:
- Students evaluate what each pathway demands and compare these requirements to their current readiness. This section adds realism to the decision process without discouraging ambition.
They will learn to:
- Identify practical barriers and supports
- Understand timelines, costs, and effort required
- Assess readiness gaps
- Recognize which pathway is realistically achievable now (or soon)
Example:
- Pathway: Coaching
- Feasibility Factors:
- Requires certification (cost/time)
- Strong emotional alignment
- Moderate skill gap (practice needed)
Deliverables (with examples):
Deliverable 2 — Feasibility Snapshot
- A short analysis of the top feasibility factors for each pathway.
Example Entry:
- Pathway A: Low cost, quick entry, moderate skill development required
- Pathway B: Higher skill requirements, strong industry demand
- Pathway C: Requires community-based experience but high alignment
Activities:
1. Feasibility Prompts (5 min)
- “What skills or education does this pathway require?”
- “What resources do you already have?”
- “What might slow you down?”
2. Snapshot Worksheet (15 min)
- Students complete feasibility tables for each pathway.
3. Reflection (5 min)
- Prompt: “Which pathway now appears more practical than you expected?”
Practice GPTs (max 3):
- JS-Skills Gap Analyzer — Highlights real-world skill requirements.
- Achievement Companion GPT — Connects existing strengths to feasibility.
CT-Problem Clarifier GPT — Helps break down complex feasibility concerns.
🔷 SECTION 3 — Energy & Emotional Alignment Review
Learning Goal:
- Learners will identify which pathway gives them the strongest and most sustainable emotional energy.
Expanded Description:
- Students explore their emotional patterns from Week 2 and assess which pathway they feel most energized by. Energy is a key predictor of commitment and long-term success.
They will learn to:
- Identify emotional “pull” toward or away from each pathway
- Separate excitement from anxiety
- Recognize which pathway feels meaningful and sustainable
- Understand emotional resonance as a decision factor
Example Pattern:
- “When I imagine myself coaching, I feel excited and calm. When I imagine operations work, I feel steady and confident. Community service brings joy but also fatigue.”
Deliverables (with examples):
Deliverable 3 — Emotional Alignment Snapshot
- Students describe 1–2 emotional highs and lows for each pathway.
Example Entry:
- Pathway A: High excitement, strong fulfillment
- Pathway B: Calm confidence, lower passion
- Pathway C: High joy, occasional overwhelm
Activities:
1. Guided Questions (5 min)
- “Which pathway feels energizing?”
- “Which one feels heavy?”
- “Where do you imagine feeling proud?”
2. Emotion Mapping (10 min)
- Students complete a highs/lows worksheet.
3. Optional Pair Discussion (10 min)
- Share one emotional insight for feedback.
Practice GPTs (max 3):
- IK-Love GPT — Identifies passion indicators.
- EI-Goal Setting with Emotional Alignment GPT — Clarifies emotional drivers.
- EI-Emotional Self-Regulation Coach GPT — Differentiates fear from intuition.
🔷 SECTION 4 — Decision Draft + Rationale
Learning Goal:
- Learners will select a primary direction and create a rationale supported by alignment, feasibility, and emotional analysis.
Expanded Description:
- Students synthesize everything from Sections 1–3 into a decision that is both heart-aligned and reality-based. This becomes the foundation for Week 5’s capability gap analysis.
They will learn to:
- Choose one pathway as their “current direction”
- Articulate a clear, evidence-based rationale
- Acknowledge trade-offs while staying confident
- Prepare for the skills and capability work ahead
Example Decision Statement:
- “I’m choosing Coaching as my primary pathway because it strongly aligns with my values and strengths, feels energizing, and has manageable skill gaps.”
Deliverables (with examples):
- Deliverable 4 — Decision Statement + Rationale
Includes:
- Chosen pathway
- Why it aligns (values/strengths)
- Practical feasibility reasons
- Emotional energy reasons
- Acknowledged trade-offs
Example Entry:
- Chosen Pathway: Community Service & Program Support
Rationale:
- Strong values alignment (service, connection)
- Uses key strengths (organization, empathy)
- Emotional high: purpose and meaning
- Feasibility: requires experience, but accessible
- Trade-off: slower career progression
Activities:
- Synthesis Worksheet (10 min)
- Students combine all insights from Sections 1–3
- Decision Draft (10 min)
- Prompt: “Which pathway feels aligned and achievable — and why?”
- Optional Peer Feedback (5 min)
- Share decision statements in pairs.
Practice GPTs (max 3):
- ST-Socratic Tutor — Supports deeper reflection.
- CT-Decision Matrix — Helps compare pathways side by side
- JS-Career Path Planner — Reinforces alignment with career realities.
